Three men are now on remand at Dodds Prison after a jury found them guilty of having 18 illegal guns and almost 650 rounds of ammunition over a decade ago.

Corrie Macaulay Brathwaite, a customs broker of Dash Valley, St George; Martez Davidson Hackett, a mechanic of Jackson Tenantry Road, St Michael; and Warren James Husbands, of Fitts Village, St James, had denied being in possession of four Glock pistols, three Taurus pistols, a Springfield Armoury USA pistol, two Bersa pistols, a SIG Sauer pistol, a Herstal, a Para Ordnance, one Ruger, one Sturm Ruger, a SIG Arms pistol, a Smith & Wesson revolver, and a Smith & Wesson pistol on September 24, 2013.

But following Wednesday and Thursday’s summation of the trial by Justice Carlisle Greaves — in the No. 3 Supreme Court — the jury deliberated for more than two hours on Thursday evening and returned the verdict convicting the men.

Brathwaite is represented by Senior Counsel Ralph Thorne and defence lawyer Simon Clarke; Hackett by Senior Counsel Arthur Holder and attorney Ensley Grainger; and Husbands by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens. Principal State Counsel Romario Straker prosecuted the matter.

Justice Greaves ordered pre-sentence reports for the men and adjourned the matter until February 27, 2026.
