When regenerating cities, radical solutions are sometimes needed. However, the spirit of historical buildings and the cultural memory of the city must be preserved, said Adib Benbrahim, Secretary of State for Housing of the Minister of National Territorial Planning, Urban Development, Housing and Urban Policy in the Kingdom of Morocco, during a special session on “Rethinking Cultural Heritage and Inclusive Urban Regeneration” as part of WUF13.
He underlined that steps should be taken to improve the transport system in historical neighborhoods, strengthen public infrastructure and address unemployment.
