Two Decades of Transport Board Financial Statements Tabled in Senate

By Staff Writer

Financial statements covering nearly two decades of the Antigua and Barbuda Transport Board’s operations were tabled in the Senate on Thursday, placing years of the statutory body’s financial records before Parliament.

The non-consolidated financial statements span the period 2006 to 2025 and were among several reports formally laid before the Upper House.

Also tabled were the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority’s financial statements for 2016 to 2024, along with the Ombudsman’s annual reports for 2024 and 2025.

The documents were presented during the Senate’s routine business and were not debated by members.

The Transport Board statements represent one of the largest batches of financial reports submitted by a statutory corporation in a single sitting, covering almost 20 years of the agency’s operations.

The tabling of the reports now opens the way for parliamentarians, auditors and members of the public to scrutinise the Transport Board’s financial performance over the period, including its revenues, expenditure, liabilities and overall financial position.

The reports are expected to provide a detailed picture of the operations of both the Transport Board and the Tourism Authority during the years under review once they become publicly available.
