Prime Minister Friday to Attend the 78th Meeting of the OECS Authority in Antigua and Barbuda
Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines — June 20, 2026
Prime Minister Hon. Dr Godwin Friday will travel to Antigua and Barbuda to attend the 78th Meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, scheduled for 21–22 June 2026. The Meeting will bring together Heads of Government and leaders from across the OECS to discuss regional priorities, including economic development, regional integration, climate resilience, security, and cooperation among Member States.
The Meeting will also mark the official handover of the Chairmanship of the OECS Authority from Prime Minister Friday to the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Browne, in line with the Organisation’s rotational leadership arrangement.
Prime Minister Friday will be accompanied by Protection Officer Corporal Desrick Quashie, Ambassador Allan Alexander, Senior Advisor Randy Cato, and Senior Advisor and Ambassador Kevin Hope.
During the Prime Minister’s absence from the State, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Disaster Management and Immigration, Hon. Major St. Clair Leacock, will act as Prime Minister.
The Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines remains committed to advancing Vincentians’ interests through active engagement in regional and international partnerships. It will continue to work closely with OECS Member States to address shared challenges and pursue opportunities for sustainable growth and development.
