Sengar’s plea to suspend sentence denied in case of Unnao rape survivor’s father’s death
The Delhi High Court on Monday (January 19, 2026) refused to suspend the 10-year sentence awarded to expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the case of the death of the Unnao rape survivor’s father while in custody. “No grounds are made out for grant relief. The application seeking suspension of sentence is dismissed,” said Justice Ravinder Dudeja.
Supreme Court directs ECI to display names with discrepancies
The Supreme Court bench ruled that the names of persons involved in discrepancies may be displayed in Gram Panchayat and block offices, as well as ward offices in the city.
