COLUMBUS, Ohio — Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, is a graduate of Michigan whose fandom for the Wolverines is well-documented.
Ohio State football fans might get frequent reminders of that in the near future.
Fox Sports is close to a deal with Portnoy which would feature appearances by him on Big Noon Kickoff, according to a report from Front Office Sports. With this deal, his company’s content would also be featured on FS1.
The report states the deal isn’t finalized and a Fox Sports spokesperson declined to comment.
Ohio State has been a regular in Fox’s premiere slot since it premiered in 2019. The show has been in Columbus 12 times in six seasons, and it’ll make its 13th appearance on Aug. 30 when OSU hosts Texas to open the 2025 season.
Big Noon Kickoff’s willingness to follow Ohio State has extended on the road as well, with the Buckeyes making 22 appearances.
Last season, Ohio State was featured five times.
The popular pregame show is hosted by Rob Stone and includes former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer as an analyst alongside Mark Ingram, Matt Leinart and Brady Quinn.
