Chicago looked like a contender Monday night in Seattle. On the road against the defending champions, the Bears opened with a 17-play, 80-yard touchdown drive that took 8½ minutes, and they controlled the game from there. D’Andre Swift ran for three touchdowns, and Caleb Williams went 24 of 34 for 247 yards. Jeffery Simmons, in his first game since the trade from Tennessee, had a sack and five first-half tackles. The Bears won 34-17. “We’re also a force to be reckoned with,” Williams said afterward. Ben Johnson was more measured: “We didn’t come here to make a statement… We’re still building.”
