Cambodia, Malaysia explore media cooperation to promote healthcare tourism

Cambodia and Malaysia are exploring closer media cooperation to promote healthcare tourism and expand public awareness of Malaysia’s medical services among Cambodian citizens.

Information Minister Neth Pheaktra met with a delegation from the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), led by Malaysian Ambassador to Cambodia Shaharuddin Onn and MHTC Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Suriaghandi Suppiah, at the ministry yesterday.

The two sides discussed strategies to disseminate accurate information about Malaysian healthcare services, while fostering institutional ties, professional exchanges and shared expertise between the two nations.

Both parties highlighted the media’s vital role as a bridge to inform the public, with the proposed partnership aiming to strengthen bilateral communication channels and enhance understanding of Malaysia’s medical tourism sector.
