Dorchester Health Department announces Tobacco Retailer Education Partner Program

(DORCHESTER CO. Md) – The Dorchester County Health Department is helping incentivize local businesses when it comes to selling tobacco.

It’s part of the Health Department’s Tobacco Retailer Education Partner Program.

They’re offering retailers up to forty-four hundred dollars to make sure they’re up to date on the latest tobacco distribution laws.

The health department says this is a community-wide effort.

“We also partner with several organizations in the community to go out and educate those retailers on current laws. Product placement, idea and things like that. Make sure they have signage up and, you know, the electronic calendars letting you know what date they have to be ID for,” says Health Department Program Coordinator, Shannon Proffitt.
