Attorney-at-law Cajeton Hood
A formal complaint has been filed to the body overseeing the conduct of lawyers against former Attorney-General Cajeton Hood in connection with a $25, 000 payment given to him.
The complaint was sent to the General Legal Council by Dr. Valma Jessamy following the non-refund of the money given to Hood allegedly to represent her in a legal matter for which he did not show up in court.
Jessamy reportedly gave the money to Hood to secure his services in a Civil Matter before High Court Judge Justice Actie which she had against the Grenada Co-operative Bank Ltd (GCBL) and the law firm of Lewis & Renwick which she eventually lost.
According to the letter, when Jessamy contacted Hood via a third person for the return of the money he told the individual to get lost.
