Letters: AI users need to think ahead | Opinion

Re: “Read this in your robot voice,” Oct. 26.

I just read the letter from Muse, Brian Randal Haynes’ AI assistant. Wow, Muse is so smart, Haynes doesn’t have to think anymore. Give Muse an incident and it becomes a formal statement. Give it a form and Muse duplicates it, completes it and automatically sends it through Haynes’ email.

If he needs to send out letters, Muse researches, formats, drafts and then files them. Muse says, “Just give me a thought, a subject, needed research, emails, documents or anything to save Haynes from having to think, and I’ve got it.” And no browser needs to be opened: “Just talk to me.”

What I find scary is that Haynes doesn’t have a problem with any of this. Pretty soon Muse is going to ask, “Why do we need Haynes?”

By the way, I am not a robot.
