INDIANAPOLIS — A teenage boy is in stable condition after being shot at an apartment building near Monument Circle Sunday night.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said at approximately 10:18 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of Monument Circle on the report of a person shot.
Arriving officers found a teenage boy with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Police said he was taken to the hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Capt. Rob Rider with IMPD said the incident occurred at an apartment complex called The Block, located at 114 West Market Street, which is right next to Monument Circle. The teenager ran from the apartment complex after being shot and came upon an off-duty EMT, who was able to call for help.
Police said they do not have a suspect in custody or any information as to what led up to the shooting.
“We honestly don’t know what occurred in the apartment building,” Rider said.
