The Anti-Narcotics Department of the National Police smashed a large-scale drug trafficking ring that exported drugs from Laos through Cambodia to a third country.
The crackdown began with the interception of a large shipment of drugs weighing hundreds of kilogrammes and the arrest of a Cambodian suspect on October 27, at 7:30pm on National Road 5, in Toul Ngok village, Kampong Luang commune, Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province.
On Saturday at 3:30 pm, the department cracked down on a gang in the Phnom Penh area.
As a result, four suspects were arrested, and a large amount of drugs was seized.
Under interrogation, the perpetrators confessed that drugs were exported from Laos to a third country via Cambodia.
This crackdown demonstrates the department’s commitment to tackling drug transportation in Cambodia to protect public security, order, and public health from the dangers of drugs.
