District authorities paid an unannounced visit to two Phnom Penh nightclubs, submitting a long list of recommendations for club management to follow.

The Daun Penh district administration inspected the ‘Studio X’ club on Street 242, at the corner of Street 55, and the ‘Studio Entertainment’ club on Street 55, Chattomuk commune, on Friday night.

The inspections were to inform club owners and staff to cooperate with the authorities to protect and maintain social order.

The following recommendations were given to club owners and staff to ensure that there is no sex trafficking, prostitution, or sexual services offered in the premises. Also to ensure that premises are not used as a place to store, trade, distribute, or use illegal drugs.

Owners must report any suspects involved in criminal offences and cooperate in investigations.

They must not allow minors to enter the premises, prevent illegal gambling, the use of illegal weapons and cross-border crimes.

When a volatile situation occurs, the owner must immediately report it to the authorities to resolve the problem in a timely manner.

All premises must install security cameras, both inside and outside.

After the instructions, the managers of the two entertainment clubs agreed to comply and cooperate with the authorities.
