It’s all over at Stamford Bridge, Lisandro Martínez earned a moronic red card as Manchester United failed to build on a positive first half to lose 2-0. Scott Murray has the reaction:

Nottingham Forest are a strange proposition. Lots of quality players but they’ve only won one Premier League game so far this season. They’ve only conceded 10 goals – an Oliver Glasner trademark is defensive organisation – but Liam Delap is yet to fire and today they face another well-organised defence in Brentford. Every chance Forest start November in the bottom three, a position which has typically cost the manager his job. Forest fans, what do you make of the season so far?

I am at the big one.

Amid a hectic day in the Premier League, I find myself sat at the AIG Stadium, the home of League Two leaders Salford City. There is not a cloud in the sky and it is unseasonably warm in Greater Manchester where the Ammies are aiming to secure an eighth straight league win. David Beckham and Gary Neville are part of the ownership and there is plenty of ambition to move up the leagues, despite having the fourth-lowest average attendance.

Former Ange Postecoglou assistant Peter Cklamovski is in charge of Salford and is redefining their style. They suffered a bumpy start, losing their first three games but they have found their way under the Australian coach and few would back against them winning the league come May.

This is one of the most pathetic episodes in Premier League history. We’re so over if clubs are taking legal action over some comments on a podcast, get a grip.

Preamble

A rare treat with five 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League this afternoon. There’s a Carabao Cup rematch at the Etihad as Brighton aim to get revenge for their defeat on penalties on Wednesday night. Bournemouth look to continue their good form against a resolute Leeds side, Brentford v Forest should be entertaining, there’s a basement battle between Coventry and Sunderland, while two promoted sides go at it with Ipswich on the road at Hull. In the Championship West Ham v West Brom will be worth keeping an eye on, my pick for League One is Mansfield v Notts County, and League Two leaders Salford welcome in-form Exeter to Moor Lane. I’ll be doing my best to keep you across all of it and first up is the team news, in about 15 minutes.
