Rain chances, then cooler air moves in

The chance for rain is increasing as we head through tonight into Friday, but temperatures remain mild…for now.

Highs on Friday will be in 50s and 60s for most of the state, but far SE Nebraska will be very close to 70 degrees.

Rain chances will start up late Thursday night then on and off through Friday. It doesn’t look like we’ll see a lot of rain, but if a thunderstorm can get going, it would drop quite a bit of rain in just a few areas.

Above is what our StormCast weather model is saying for timing, duration, and location of the storm chances.

The western half of the state does still need rain. The Drought Monitor does show some improvements, especially in northern and west central Nebraska, but the panhandle did not improve.

If you’re headed to the game Saturday night, it’s looking like a nice night for some football!
