US dollar rates hold steady near 168,000 across major Iraqi exchanges

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the Iraqi dinar maintained relative stability across parallel markets in major commercial hubs on Thursday morning, October 29, 2026, with purchase rates hovering near the 168,000 dinar threshold per $100.

According to morning trading data, Baghdad exchange bureaus posted retail selling rates at 168,500 dinars against purchase bids of 168,000 dinars per $100.

In Erbil, trading counters quoted selling prices at 168,000 dinars and buying bids at 167,500 dinars. Across the southern port city of Basra, foreign currency desks registered selling prices at 168,000 dinars alongside purchase offers of 167,500 dinars per $100.

The parallel market spreads remain firmly elevated above the Central Bank of Iraq’s statutory official peg, which remains set at 152,000 dinars per $100 (1,520 dinars per dollar), as traders monitor ongoing cash liquidity consignments and executive measures aimed at curbing currency premiums.
