LYNNWOOD — A medical call Tuesday led law enforcement to the discovery of a residence allegedly making explosives near Martha Lake.
Around 2 p.m. Tuesday, South County Fire responded to a medical call in the 400 block of Lakeview Road in unincorporated Lynnwood, according to a press release. During the call’s response, firefighters observed what they believed to be explosives inside the residence.
When deputies responded to the scene, a sergeant immediately recognized chemicals and chemical precursors associated with explosives, which appeared to be manufactured inside the residence, the release said.
Bomb squad technicians from the Washington State Patrol entered the residence with a robot and determined an active explosives lab was present, the release said.
After a deputy obtained a search warrant, bomb technicians processed the scene and removed all explosives precursor chemicals from the residence, the release said. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office further processed the scene and collected additional evidence.
At this time, the release said law enforcement does not believe there is any immediate danger to the public. This remains an active investigation.
