A 19-year-old man and a juvenile are under arrest in connection with a homicide and vehicle theft in Lafayette Parish, authorities said.

Deputies responded to the 200 block of Despain Street around 7:30 p.m. Monday for a reported homicide. At the scene, they determined a vehicle registered to the victim, 35-year-old Jorge Andino Espinal, had also been stolen from the residence.

With assistance from the Real Time Crime Center, law enforcement camera technology and the Dallas Police Department, authorities located the vehicle in Texas and apprehended the suspects.

The adult suspect, Jamie Santos Martinez, and the juvenile are being transported to Lafayette Parish to be booked on charges of first-degree murder and theft of a motor vehicle.

The case remains under investigation. Authorities have not released additional details.
