Iraq to host Baghdad International Energy Forum in January

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Oil has announced on Wednesday that it is planning to organize the next Baghdad International Energy Forum entitled “Towards the Optimal Investment in Oil and Gas” in Baghdad on January 20–21, 2027.

The organizing committee has announced the completion of all logistical and technical preparations for the launch of the forum, which will be held under the auspices of Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and will be attended by energy ministers from around the world, as well as heads of major corporations and specialized international organizations.

The strategic event aims to highlight the latest and most significant investment opportunities in Iraq’s oil and gas sectors, in line with the government’s vision to establish Baghdad as an important hub in regional and global energy markets, according to a statement released by the Oil Ministry.

The organizing committee has extended formal invitations to ministers of energy and petroleum, heads of international agencies, and business executives.

The forum aims to provide a high-level dialogue platform that facilitates the creation of sustainable international partnerships, attracts cutting-edge technological solutions, and supports infrastructure development efforts.

The event is part of the Iraqi government’s initiatives to guarantee the most effective use of the country’s resources.
