Western Kentucky graduate senior forward Danielle Lewin was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This marks Lewin’s first time earning the honor this season.
Lewin helped lead the Hilltoppers (10-1-6) to a 2-0 week in CUSA play. WKU defeated Jax State, 7-1, on Thursday before earning a 2-1 victory over New Mexico State on Sunday to improve to 4-1-2 in conference play.
Lewin recorded seven points across the two matches. In the win over Jax State, she contributed to four of WKU’s seven goals, tallying a career-high six points. She opened the scoring just 38 seconds into the match with a shot to the top-right corner of the net. Lewin added two assists in the first half before finding the back of the net again in the 58th minute.
Against New Mexico State, she assisted on the game-winning goal with a long cross from near midfield. With her seventh assist of the season coming against New Mexico State, Lewin leads CUSA in assists and is tied for fifth in WKU program history.
WKU will close out regular season play on the road this weekend. The Hilltoppers will take on MTSU on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 5 p.m. CT at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
