Lady Tops finish play at Fall Invitational

Western Kentucky sophomore Barbara Olvera earned a singles and a doubles win at the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational on Sunday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Western Kentucky’s women’s tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule with the final day of the Middle Tennessee Fall Invitational on Sunday at the Adams Tennis Complex in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
The Lady Toppers started the day with a pair of doubles wins over Chattanooga and followed with wins in five of the six singles matches they played against UNC Asheville. WKU picked up singles victories over the Bulldogs from Isabelle Einess, Emily Schut, Madison Hill, Barbara Olvera and Andra Sirbu, while the doubles teams of Ariadna Fernandez/Olvera and Einess/Sirbu claimed wins over the Mocs.
“It was good to finish well today,” WKU coach Greg Davis said in a news release. “This was our best match so far. We played well in doubles and we were decisive in singles.”
Sunday’s matches were the final of the fall for WKU. The Lady Toppers will open the regular season on Jan. 14 at home against Eastern Kentucky. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
