A major political row has erupted following Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s controversial remark made during an event in Patna. In response to an audience member who stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not go anywhere, Kharge retorted with remarks targeting the Prime Minister. The statement prompted sharp condemnation from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who accused the Congress party of crossing the limits of political decency and insulting the Prime Minister’s family. Meanwhile, BJP State Working Committee member Krishna Singh Kallu lodged a formal police complaint against Kharge at Patna’s Kotwali Police Station. The incident triggered further confrontation over reports that the heckler was assaulted at the venue. While the Congress defended Kharge by framing the retort as colloquially used political slang and accusing the BJP of past insults against leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, BJP representatives condemned the comment as personal abuse and an insult to constitutional decorum.
