UNM begins game against North Dakota State after weather delay that forced evacuation

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico Lobos began their game against the North Dakota State University Bison Saturday night after a weather delay due to lightning forced fans to evacuate the stadium.

Officials said fans who left were allowed to return to the stadium without a ticket.

The Lobos were quick to get on the board first, leading 7-0 as of 8:30 p.m. The first half of the game was mostly a defensive slog, save for a Bison field goal in the first half and a last minute touchdown from the Lobos at the end of the half to make it 14-3.

The game is considered to be a key matchup in the quest for a conference title.
