Town of Glover passes resolution to maintain control of Rodgers Road

GLOVER, Vt. (WCAX) – The town of Glover has passed a resolution to keep all of Rodgers Road, Town Highway 48.

Lieutenant Governor John Rodgers threatened to sue the town over a Class 4 section of the road, saying it belongs to him.

Since then, almost 20 neighbors who say they need to access that section of the road signed a petition to the town are asking that it be kept a town road.

Dozens of residents showed up at the select board meeting to make their voices heard, including the lieutenant governor’s uncle. “To put it bluntly, it’s silly. It’s plain stupid, but that’s my opinion,” said Jim Rodgers.

“With all the stuff that goes on now in our area, when people are on your door yard at 10, 11, 12, 1 o’clock in the morning. I don’t know if John experiences that either, but it’s a lot to take,” said Glover resident Amos Turner.

The lieutenant governor did not attend the meeting. We reached out for comment, but have not heard back from him yet at this time.
