The Catholic High School League will commemorate its 100th anniversary Saturday with three championship games at Ford Field in Detroit, capping a centennial season with a Prep Bowl tripleheader that showcases the league’s finest programs.
The title games begin at 1:30 p.m. with the Cardinal Championship between undefeated Royal Oak Shrine (8-0) and Clarkston Everest Collegiate (7-1), as the top teams from intersectional Divisions 1 and 2 battle for league supremacy.
At 4:30 p.m., the CHSL AA championship features a clash between two 2025 MHSAA state champions — Dearborn Divine Child (7-1), last year’s Division 4 titlist, and Jackson Lumen Christi (7-1), the Division 6 champion. Divine Child enters following its only loss of the season to Warren De La Salle, while Lumen Christi survived a one-point thriller against Detroit Country Day in Week 8.
The 7:30 p.m. event finale pits undefeated Novi Detroit Catholic Central (8-0) against Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice (6-2) in a Central Division showdown under the Ford Field lights. The Shamrocks bring standouts Gideon Gash, Eric Anderson and Duke Banta, while the Warriors counter with playmakers Jayden Bell and Tyler Trusel in a matchup between two programs steeped in CHSL tradition.
