Prominent music producer, Don Corleon, & attorney Mekelia Green both charged with assault

International music producer, Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett, and attorney, Mekelia Green, are heading to court after both were charged with assault.

The charges reportedly stem from a domestic incident on October 10 between Don Carleon and Green.

Both have been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm. It is being treated as a matter of case-cross-case where both will ventilate the issue in court.

Corleon and Green are to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on October 30.

An alleged video of the incident was posted on social media by the music producer. In the widely circulated video, Don Corleon says he was hit by the attorney.

Nationwide News understands Don Corleon reported the incident to the police shortly after.

Green also filed a separate report with the police. Our news centre also understands that Green was granted a restraining order against Don Corleon.

While Don Corleon has remained largely silent in public since posting his video on his social media, Green has been vocal in her response.

In addition to multiple social media posts referencing the incident, Green posted a 19-minute YouTube video rebutting what she says are false and defamatory claims made by Corleon.

She says the incident started on October 9, when she ended her two-year-long relationship with the music producer.

According to Green, the producer flew to Jamaica on October 10 to confront her. She denies assaulting him.
