A woman was arrested early Thursday morning after Las Vegas police said she stabbed her husband to death.
The Metropolitan Police Deparment said in a news release that at 5:34 a.m. Thursday, LVMPD Dispatch received a report of a stabbing in the 6700 block of Del Rey Avenue, near Charleston and Rainbow boulevards.
Arriving officers located a male and a female inside of an apartment suffering from apparent stab wounds.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The woman, identified as 53-year-old Naima Ahmadi, was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Through the course of the investigation, police said that it was determined that Ahmadi fatally stabbed her husband before stabbing herself.
Ahmadi was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with a deadly weapon.
The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s office.
