Pintu sees 68% surge in tokenized stock and ETF buyers – ObserverID

Jakarta, IO – PT Pintu Kemana Saja (PINTU), a crypto asset investment platform licensed and supervised by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK), recorded a surge in interest in tokenized US stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the third quarter of 2026. The number of users purchasing tokenized stocks and ETFs on Pintu rose 68% quarter-on-quarter from the second quarter, accompanied by a 64% increase in active traders, a 55% rise in transactions, and a 51% increase in trading volume.

Pintu President Director Andy Putra said the third quarter saw positive momentum in tokenized asset trading on the platform.

“Four tokenized assets recorded significant increases in the number of buyers during the quarter. Nvidia (NVDAX) rose 224%, Apple (AAPLX) climbed 212%, Alphabet (GOOGLX) grew 131%, and Robinhood (HOODX) increased 118%. Meanwhile, Meta (METAX) recorded a more than 230% increase in trading volume. This growth shows that Pintu users are becoming more active in following global technology companies and expanding their asset choices to build their portfolios,” he said on Thursday (22/10/2026).

Andy added that users were also beginning to use tokenized assets for diversification rather than simply following technology stock trends. The number of buyers of the SPDR Gold ETF also rose more than 170% in the third quarter, reflecting growing interest in gaining gold exposure through their portfolios.

“We will continue expanding our asset offerings so Pintu users can build more diversified portfolios through a single application,” he said.

Pintu has been expanding investment options for Indonesian investors and traders by offering tokenized assets since 2025. As of October 2026, the platform provides more than 100 tokenized assets, including US stocks, ETFs, and various commodities, with purchases starting at Rp11,000.

Pintu has also added 10 new tokenized assets issued by Ondo, comprising nine ETFs and Micron stock (MUon). The additions expand users’ investment exposure to Asian markets, commodities, and fixed-income instruments, including ETFs tracking Japanese, South Korean, and Indian markets, as well as short-term US Treasury bills with maturities of zero to three months.

Users can start trading these new assets with as little as Rp65,000. Micron (MUon) is available for trading 24/7, while the nine ETFs can be traded 24 hours a day, five days a week.

“Tokenized stocks and ETFs are digital representations that provide exposure to the price movements of underlying assets. Through Pintu, users can purchase fractional shares of these assets in rupiah without opening an account with an overseas securities firm. Extended trading hours compared with regular US stock market hours also offer greater flexibility for Indonesian investors in a different time zone,” Andy said.

He added that the assets also offer a competitive tax rate, with a final tax of just 0.21%. These features make global assets more accessible to retail investors, including beginners.

Globally, the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) continues to gain traction as more issuers and financial institutions bring stocks, ETFs, and debt securities onto blockchain infrastructure.

Data from RWA.xyz, a market analytics platform and data aggregator specializing in tokenized real-world assets on blockchain networks, showed that the total market capitalization of tokenized assets reached US$39.26 billion as of Oct. 20, 2026, equivalent to approximately Rp708.64 trillion.

“Tokenized assets represent a positive trend that broadens retail investors’ access to investment instruments that were previously difficult to reach. Amid economic and financial market uncertainty, we see tokenized assets not merely as an alternative investment option but also as a new opportunity to expand access to investment,” Andy said.

“Nevertheless, each asset has its own characteristics and risk profile. Investors should conduct thorough research, understand the risks associated with each asset, and consider their investment objectives before making decisions to ensure they invest responsibly,” he concluded. (est)
