Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced $1.7 million in funding for 12 pilot projects designed to demonstrate advanced air mobility technologies in communities across Michigan, with applications ranging from medical deliveries to infrastructure inspections.
The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification selected the projects through a competitive process under the Michigan Mobility Funding Platform, administered by NextEnergy. The awards advance Executive Directive 2025-4, the state’s strategy to expand advanced air mobility capabilities and support safe integration of these technologies.
