Jakarta, IO – Students attend classes at State Elementary Schools (SDN) Jati Pulo 07 and 08 in Palmerah, Jakarta (Oct. 19). The newly revitalized school building, which has been in operation since July 2026, was inaugurated by the Jakarta Provincial Government to improve educational facilities.
The five-story building features various modern facilities to support learning and student creativity. It has 24 classrooms with natural lighting and adequate ventilation to maintain air circulation. Each floor is also equipped with interactive digital boards to support more engaging lessons.
The school building also has a multipurpose sports court, two elevators to facilitate access between floors and disability-friendly toilets. Other facilities include a prayer room, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and an integrated fire protection system with alarms and hydrants.

Before the revitalization, the school grounds were prone to flooding during heavy rain because they sat below street level. Limited classroom space also forced the school to stagger room usage, preventing classes from running as effectively as they could.
Through the revitalization, the Jakarta administration hopes the new building for SDN Jati Pulo 07 and 08 will provide a safer, more comfortable and more conducive learning environment. The improved facilities are also expected to enhance learning quality and support more equitable access to education across Jakarta. (IO/Septo Kun Wijaya)
