Ex-Tropical Cyclone Wati weakens, Gale warnings cancelled

Ex-Tropical Cyclone Wati continues to weaken as it transitions into an extra-tropical system, meaning it no longer meets the criteria for a tropical cyclone.

Following the system’s weakening, all gale warnings for the southern Cook Islands have been cancelled.

However, a Strong Wind Warning remains in effect.

Residents and mariners are advised to continue monitoring official weather bulletins and follow guidance from local authorities as strong winds may still affect parts of the region.
