What’s at stake for Mississippi State and LSU?
For Mississippi State, a road victory over another ranked SEC opponent would help the Bulldogs respond immediately to their first loss and improve their conference record to 3-1.
LSU has even less margin for error in conference play after starting 1-2 against SEC opponents. The Tigers can nevertheless use a home win over No. 16 Mississippi State to rebound from their overtime loss at Kentucky.
That combination gives today’s early kickoff in Tiger Stadium significant stakes for both programs, with two ranked SEC teams attempting to stabilize their seasons before the second half of their schedules arrives.
