The Government has approved the Final assessment of direct damage to agricultural crops caused by hailstorms between 12 May and 23 July 2026, which amounts to €58 million. The Final assessment of direct damage exceeds 0.03% of national budget revenues planned for 2026, which means that the limit for using the state budget funds has been reached. The Ministry of Agriculture will prepare the programme for eliminating the consequences of direct damage.

The adopted Decree on financial assistance to compensate for the loss of income in apple production due to the frost in 2025 allocates €2.8 million in aid to apple growers. The Agency will issue its decisions on the basis of data from official records by 30 November 2026 at the latest. The aid must be paid by 28 February 2027.

By amending the Decree on cooperation between the public prosecutor’s office, the police and other competent state bodies and institutions in detecting and prosecuting offenders, the Government is ensuring more effective operational cooperation during pre-trial proceedings. Among other things, the Decree stipulates that a public prosecutor may not, by issuing mandatory instructions, interfere with the police’s decision regarding 48-hour detention. With regard to mandatory verbal instructions concerning measures to be taken in the event of deprivation of liberty, a public prosecutor will be obliged to draw up an official record within 12 hours of the instructions being given and forward it to the police without delay.

The Government today took note of the Draft Budgetary Plan of the General Government 2027. For 2027, the Government plans for growth in core expenditure to amount to 2.5%, which will be below the 4.1% limit approved by the Council of the European Union on the basis of the Republic of Slovenia’s Medium-Term Fiscal and Structural Plan for 2025–2028.

At today’s session, the Government included the Maintenance and Upgrading of eHealth Solutions project, the renovation of the Bled Health Centre and the expansion of the Slovenian Alpine Museum in the current Development Programmes Plan 2026–2029.
