A 34-year old man was ejected and killed in a single-vehicle car crash on Saturday afternoon on La. 16 near Rolling Acres Drive in Livingston Parish, Louisiana State Police said.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
State Police said the victim was driving a 2005 Toyota Sequoia traveling southbound on La.16 at a high rate of speed. The driver failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and traveled off the right side of the road. The car overturned multiple times and struck a culvert where the driver was ejected.
The victim, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, was transported in critical condition to a local hospital, where he died, State Police said. A front seat passenger in the car at the time of the crash was properly restrained and transported to the local hospital with moderate injuries.
Impairment is unknown at this time but a routine toxicology test will be conducted.
