Singarayakonda: Two youths died while two others were missing after strong waves pulled them into the sea at Pakala beach in Singarayakonda mandal on Saturday. Three others were rescued and undergoing treatment.

About 70 people from Srirangapuram village in Kanigiri mandal came to the beach after celebrating Poleramma jatara. The deceased were identified as Paladugu Teja (20) and Battula Mahesh Babu (22). Devala Vishnu and Devala Narayana are missing. Police and fishermen are searching with drones and boats.

Manoj Kumar, Mahesh Teja and Narasimha are being treated at hospitals in Ongole and Kandukur. One of them is in critical condition. SP V Harshavardhan Raju and Collector P Raja Babu visited the spot and met the families. Doctors informed that Narasimha, whom the Collector met at Kandukur, is out of danger.

Speaking to reporters, Collector Raja Babu informed that a big wave dragged some of them inside. Local fishermen and police on duty rushed in boats and saved three persons.
