Peru’s PCM on Unified Command: A United Front Against Organized Crime

The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) highlighted on Friday the creation of the Unified Command, which will bring together the capabilities of the Armed Forces and the National Police to confront criminal organizations and protect the citizenry.

Through its X account, it detailed that the strategy will involve 1,350 personnel, a special elite unit, as well as a control and operations center from which actions will be directed.

“One united front against organized crime!” the PCM stated.

Last Wednesday, President Keiko Fujimori announced the creation of the Unified Command to confront, as well as defeat crime and delinquency.

What actions will the command take?

– Search-and-capture operations nationwide.

– Special operations involving an elite unit.

– Deportation of foreign nationals who entered the country to commit crimes.

– Intelligence operations to dismantle criminal gangs.
