Jonglei caretaker governor appoints six county commissioners

The Caretaker Governor of Jonglei State Moses Majok Gatluak Thou has reconstituted the state’s local government by appointing six caretaker county commissioners, according to his office.

The appointments were made through a gubernatorial decree issued on Friday, according to the Governor’s Office.

The newly appointed caretaker commissioners are Mai Meat Thoan for Akobo County, Gatluak Gai Teny for Ayod County, and Daniel Deng Panchol for Bor County.

Others are Manyang Gatluak Bany for Fangak County, Nhial Deng Puuch for Pigi County, and Biel Lam Pech for Uror County.

The Governor’s Office said the appointments add to the recently appointed caretaker county commissioners for Twic East and Duk counties.

According to the decree, the appointments “take immediate effect from the date of signing.”

The latest appointments come as the caretaker administration moves to reconstitute local government leadership across Jonglei State.

The Governor’s Office did not provide further details in the announcement on the tenure or specific mandate of the newly appointed caretaker commissioners.
