DOÑA ANA COUNTY, N.M. — A fiery crash involving a large fuel truck on Interstate 25 left four people with serious injuries Sunday evening near Hatch.

At around 6:07 p.m. New Mexico State Police officers responded to a crash involving a large fuel truck and a pickup truck on southbound I-25 near milepost 41. The fuel truck caught fire after the crash.

The conditions of the four people injured are unknown. The crash closed I-25 to allow for extensive, hours-long cleanup.

The tanker company dispatched an environmental cleanup crew and an investigation is ongoing.

Doña Ana Fire Rescue also responded to the crash. Arrey Derry Fire Department and Spaceport America fire crews assisted.
