McBurnie admits ‘I should have scored’

Oli McBurnie chats to the BBC after that draw and acknowledged that he should have scored with one of his chances.

McBurnie said: “It took us a bit of getting used to in the first half, the way the gaffer wants to play.

“We created enough chances to win the game. I should have scored.

“I was asked to play a different position and I enjoyed it. I’d rather be getting in the positions than not getting chances.

“Second half was a lot more of what the manager wanted from us. It was waves of pressure and the only thing missing was a goal or two.”

And it’s all over. It ends 0-0, so Sebastien Pocognoli’s first game sees him take a point away from home but Scotland probably should have won it in the second half. Oli McBurnie and Kieron Bowie both missed golden chances.

On the flip side, they were rubbish in the first half and didn’t truly test Jan Oblak enough, so perhaps a draw wasn’t the end of the world overall
