President Aleksandar Vučić told journalists in New York that he would resign on Sunday at around 8pm and explain his decision. He said he hoped that within two or three days, following talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, he would know more about a solution for Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS).
“I will resign on Sunday evening, so I will let you know. I think it will be at around 8pm. I will inform you all, and you will hear my explanation and everything else,” Vučić said.
Vučić also said he hoped that within two or three days, after talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he would know more about a solution to the issue concerning the Serbian oil company NIS.
Asked by journalists in New York whether the outlook was now clearer regarding a solution for NIS, Vučić said he did not know exactly what to tell them, but that he hoped he would know more after speaking to Putin.
“I don’t know what to tell you. I’m waiting to speak to President Putin. Perhaps I will know something then. I would like to be able to make both the people and myself happy, to be honest, after these months and years of hardship. I don’t know what else I can tell you. I hope that in two or three days I will have a better and more precise answer for you,” Vučić said.
