Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski met today with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Macedonia, Abdulla Al-Sebousi, to discuss opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries, with a focus on air transport, infrastructure, and tourism. Particular emphasis was placed on cooperation in the aviation sector and the establishment of a new air route between the two countries.

Discussions also covered investments in transport infrastructure, including the implementation of major infrastructure projects of regional significance. The conversation also addressed boosting tourism between the two countries, as well as the potential for investment in tourism infrastructure and the development of new tourism offerings.

Deputy Prime Minister Nikoloski highlighted the investment opportunities and conditions Macedonia offers to foreign investors, pointing to the country’s favorable geographical location, its connectivity with regional transport corridors, and the potential for implementing projects of strategic and infrastructural importance. The meeting also underscored the potential for establishing cooperation with companies and investors from the United Arab Emirates across various strategic sectors of importance to Macedonia.

Starting in March, Nikoloski said, a direct line will be introduced from Skopje to Dubai. Additionally, talks are on-going to link the Ohrid airport to one of the UAE airports. “This will be significant for the development of tourism and business”, Nikoloski said speaking in Parliament today.
