Nani has scored the biggest opening of his career with The Paradise.

Directed by Srikanth Odela, the film released in theatres on Thursday after paid premieres on Wednesday.

Despite carrying an A certificate, The Paradise opened strongly and comfortably surpassed the opening-day numbers of Nani’s previous films such as Dasara, HIT: The Third Case and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 34.65 crore net in India on Thursday, compared with approximately Rs 11.60 crore from Wednesday premieres. That takes the cumulative India net to about Rs 46.25 crore.

The film’s India gross currently stands at around Rs 54.90 crore, while overseas collections are estimated at Rs 20 crore.

That pushes the worldwide total to approximately Rs 74.90 crore so far.

For comparison, HIT: The Third Case opened with around Rs 21 crore net in India, while Dasara collected about Rs 23.20 crore. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram opened at around Rs 9 crore, and Hi Nanna at roughly Rs 4.90 crore.

With these numbers, The Paradise has clearly emerged as Nani’s biggest opener.

The film now has Friday and the weekend ahead, and the key question is whether it can hold this momentum despite the mixed word of mouth.

For now, however, the opening-day verdict is clear: Nani has delivered the biggest start of his career.
