Spirit Halloween, Chicago-style deli open

Halloween retailer Spirit has set up shop in the former Trees n Trends building on Campbell Lane in Bowling Green.
Spirit Halloween is the largest Halloween retailer in North America, with over 1,450 pop-up locations in strip centers and malls across North America, according to the company.
The Bowling Green location has varied the last several years, with the latest location at 1555 Campbell Lane. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
Trees n Trends, which featured home goods and outdoor furniture, closed its six national locations in 2025 and 2026, including the Bowling Green store.
Chicago style offered at new deli
A taste of Chicago is now available to area residents with the recent opening of Stacked High Deli.

The downtown eatery is in the location of the former G Dogs restaurant at 310 East Main Ave. in Bowling Green.
It features a variety of sandwiches, pizza and popular Chicago fare, such as Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago hot dogs and Chicago-style thin crust pizza.
Med Center offer prostate cancer treatment
The Medical Center at Bowling Green announced this week it is the first hospital in the region, and the seventh hospital in the state, to offer Pluvicto for patients with metastatic prostate cancer.
Pluvicto is a targeted radioligand therapy used to treat advanced prostate cancer in patients who have been previously treated with androgen receptor pathway inhibition, according to a news release. Pluvicto is a radiopharmaceutical therapy that binds to prostate cancer cells expressing PSMA, while limiting radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
“When prostate cancer spreads, patients may face fewer treatment options,” said Dr. Diego Cabrera, Oncologist and Hematologist at Med Center Health. “Pluvicto has been one of the best new treatments available for prostate cancer. Offering Pluvicto locally gives eligible patients access to an important treatment while allowing them to remain closer to their families and support systems.”
“Our Nuclear Medicine team is proud to continue our collaboration with the Cancer Center,” said Laura Ortiz, Nuclear Medicine Director at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. “Before we began Pluvicto, patients were traveling hours for radioligand therapy. Providing this treatment in Bowling Green reduces that burden and represents another step forward in specialized cancer care for our region.”
