Public Urged to Use Nearest Clinics for Non-Emergency Health Needs

The general public is respectfully advised to visit their nearest community healthcare clinic when seeking treatment for general health conditions and non-emergency medical care and health common health concerns such as  

● Coughs, colds, and fever 

● Muscle aches and body pain 

● Diarrhoea 

● Wound dressing and care 

● Malaria screening and testing 

● Blood sugar level monitoring 

Residents in Honiara and public are kindly encouraged to visit their nearest Honiara City Council (HCC) clinic for routine health services and common health concerns. 

National Referral Hospital – Emergency Department Priority. 

The National Referral Hospital (NRH) Emergency Department (ED) remains dedicated to attending to emergency cases and critically ill patients first. Therefore, individuals presenting to the ED with non-critical conditions may experience longer wait times as clinical teams prioritize life-threatening emergencies. 

Visit Honiara City Council Nearest Clinic 

Most visits to the NRH ED are outpatient cases that can be safely, comfortably, and effectively managed by the skilled doctors and nurses at local HCC clinics. 

By visiting your nearest HCC clinic for primary care needs, you help support:

  • our healthcare workers, 
  • reduce overcrowding at the emergency department, 
  • and ensure that emergency staff are available for those requiring urgent lifesaving care, while receiving prompt attention closer to home. 

We appreciate the public’s understanding, cooperation, and support in helping us maintain efficient and accessible health services for everyone.
