In recent years, the volume of road construction work in Kyrgyzstan has increased nearly ninefold. Kubanych Beksultanov, head of the Construction and Reconstruction Division of the Road Management Department under the Ministry of Transport, reported on Birinchi Radio.
According to him, the pace of work in the road sector has increased sharply since 2021.
«While only 170 kilometers were paved in 2021, the figure reached 1,545 kilometers in 2025. As of September 22, 2026, at least 1,548 kilometers had been paved across the republic. Last year on this date, 822 kilometers had been paved, meaning a difference of 700 kilometers,» Kubanych Beksultanov said.
He noted that this growth was primarily driven by increased funding.
«In 2021, there was virtually no funding, but approximately 96 billion soms have been allocated for 2026. In addition, we have begun to pay more attention to training specialists. Japan ranks first in road construction, and every year we send our employees there for training,» Kubanych Beksultanov added.
