Both dignitaries reaffirmed the importance of continuing to strengthen political and economic ties and cybersecurity cooperation between the two countries, as well as addressing major challenges such as El Niño phenomenon.
Likewise, they highlighted opportunities to deepen existing economic and trade relations by increasing Emirati investment in Peru and promoting new projects.
In this regard, the officials discussed progress in negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the Agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments (APPRI).
In terms of connectivity, they highlighted the entry into force of the Air Services Agreement between the two countries, as well as efforts related to Emirates’ operation on the Dubai–Milan–Lima route.
This will help boost tourism, trade, and Peruvian exports in the Gulf, South Asian, and East African markets.
