Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Rusafa Investigation Court Specialized in Integrity and Money Laundering Cases announced on Monday, September 21, 2026, the recovery of 51 billion Iraqi dinars on behalf of state-owned Rafidain Bank.
According to an official statement released by the Supreme Judicial Council’s media office and, the restitution was executed following intensive investigative proceedings into major financial and administrative corruption offenses that directly harmed public finances.
The judiciary noted that the successful clawback forms part of an ongoing, systemic anti-corruption drive designed to safeguard state assets, close institutional vulnerabilities, and enforce accountability across the public banking sector.
Rigorous judicial reviews and forensic audit procedures spearheaded by the specialized court enabled authorities to trace the illicitly acquired funds and return the entire 51 billion dinars to state accounts.
Judicial authorities affirmed that legal actions against the implicated perpetrators remain active, emphasizing that prosecutorial teams will continue pursuing individuals and entities employing unlawful mechanisms to generate illicit profits at the expense of public treasury funds.
