LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Behind five sacks, offensive prowess and only allowing one score, Nebraska wrapped up the non-conference slate with a 34-7 win over North Dakota Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
The Huskers (3-0) received the ball to start the game and got going quick, as Anthony Colandrea marched his offense down the field and called his own number for the games first touchdown.
Big Red’s defense stifled the Fighting Hawks (3-1) throughout, dragging down Jerry Kaminski five times in the win. Riley Van Poppel, Donovan Jones, Jahsear Whittington and Dawson Merritt each had a solo sack.
Freshman running back Jamal Rule continued his early season success on the ground, rushing for 119 yards on 15 attempts, while finding pay dirt twice. One of his scores was on a rush of 55 yards.
Nebraska has now won 11 consecutive non-conference games dating back to 2023, and will look to ride this unbeaten start into Big Ten play against Michigan State on the road next Saturday. Kickoff will be at 4 p.m. CT from East Lansing, Mich.
