Gallup city officials said a citywide power outage also left Thoreau, Jamestown and Gamerco without electricity late Friday.
GALLUP, N.M. – Gallup city officials said a citywide power outage also left Thoreau, Jamestown and Gamerco without electricity late Friday.
The city said in an update at 9:40 p.m. that PNM identified the cause of the outage and expected to restore power in two hours.
Earlier, the City Electric Department said an upstream electric provider outage caused the blackout and that crews did not yet have an estimated restoration time.
The McKinley County Sheriff’s Office said all of Gallup was without power and that officials believed a PNM feeder issue caused the outage.
Emergency services remain available through normal channels, including 911 for emergencies.
City officials said they will keep updating the public as they learn more.
